Help bring more E85 Ethanol and 93 Oct fuel into the Permian Basin!
The Issue
Hello, we have spoken to hundreds of people in agreement about starting a petition to submit to Pilot Flying J, Alon, Sunoco, Exxon, and the refineries about getting more E85 Ethanol and 93 octane gasoline in this area; so here we are finally!
Currently Stripes/Sunoco corners the market in this area on Ethanol. The other problem is the E85 always runs out, is slow to pump, inconsistent ethanol content and it’s overpriced. The Ethanol runs out almost monthly even though they are over charging for it currently. There is one Phillips 66 Texaco station with 93 octane gasoline and people from the Permian basin communities actually plan their travels around the location of this station on the corner of 42nd St and Andrews Hwy in Odessa, TX. People travel to Odessa from surrounding communities like Kermit, Crane, Monahans, Pecos, Midland, Stanton, Andrews and more, specifically because of this 93 octane station and the E85 at Sunoco/stripes. Some people are traveling up to 2hrs away to get these fuels!
The E85 stations are always out of supply, there is a very high demand in this area! When it runs out people are scrambling to get it anywhere, traveling up to an hour and a half to two hours to fill up drums! We would like to find a solution to get this supply and demand issue solved. E85 ethanol is better for the environment supports local farms/farmers and higher octane fuels such as 93 octane actually burn cleaner than 91 octane does reducing carbon deposits.
We have all noticed several pilot stations as well as Road Ranger and DK stations being constructed in the Permian Basin area of West Texas yet none are touching on this market, which is greatly under served in this area! There are pictures floating around online of the E85 lines at stripes/Sunoco stations where the pumps are so slow it takes 40 min to pump 15 gal and people are still waiting in line! This specific pump station has been that way for over a year and no attempt to fix it has been made, even after repeated requests for management to fill out work orders. One reason people wait is because the closest E85 station from one to the other is about 35-40 min away; yet time after time people are traveling between the two when one is sold out, and even further when they are both out. We must sign this online petition for these companies to take notice of the demand for E85 and 93 octane gasoline in the Permian Basin. It is our goal to receive over 100 signature in less than 24hrs! We believe within a week it will have over 1,000+ signatures. If just one station starts carrying E85 and 93 octane fuel this petition would be a success! Please help out and sign, it will be greatly appreciated! Thank You!
Sincerely,
The people of The Permian Basin
