We, the undersigned Educator Assistants (EAs), General School Assistants (GSAs), parents, and concerned community members, call upon the Department of Basic Education (DBE) to extend the EA/GSA programme beyond its current term.

The Basic Education Employment Initiative (BEEI) has made a major positive impact in schools across South Africa by:

Providing valuable classroom and administrative support to teachers,improving learning environments and learner performance, and creating vital employment opportunities for thousands of young people.

Therefore, we respectfully request that the Department of Basic Education to retain Current EAs and GSAs as part of the extension,these assistants have already undergone training and gained valuable on-the-job experience. 

This petition is not an act of defiance, but a call for partnership and progress —  programme that empowers youth, strengthens education, and builds a better future for our country.
