For more than two decades, thousands of Salvadorans with Temporary Protected Status (TPS) have built their lives in the United States.

They have worked, paid taxes, raised families, purchased homes, and become important members of their communities. Many arrived years ago and have spent most of their adult lives contributing to this country.

Now, Salvadoran TPS holders face an uncertain future.

Ending TPS without extending protections or creating a meaningful solution could tear families apart and disrupt the lives of people who have called the United States home for decades.

Many Salvadoran TPS holders have deep family ties in America, including U.S. citizen spouses and children. They are parents, grandparents, employees, business owners, neighbors, and essential members of our communities.

We are calling on the United States government to extend Temporary Protected Status for eligible Salvadorans and protect families from unnecessary separation.

We urge our leaders to recognize the reality that these individuals have built their lives here. After decades of living, working, and contributing in the United States, they deserve stability and a humane path forward.

This is not just an immigration issue.

This is about families.

This is about communities.

This is about hardworking people who have spent years contributing to the country they call home.

We respectfully call on our nation’s leaders to extend TPS protections for Salvadorans and work toward a permanent solution for longtime residents.
