Extend the ConnectALL Fiber Network to Sandy Creek Village

The Issue

I am a resident of Sandy Creek Village and am deeply concerned as I see our village falling behind due to limited internet service options. Currently, Spectrum holds a monopoly over our area, charging exorbitant prices of $90 to $105 or more per month, while continuously hiking the rates. This situation is both frustrating and unfair, especially when neighboring areas like the outlying roads and Boylston are receiving affordable fiber options from Empire Access's ConnectALL Fiber Network.

The discrepancy in service provision places an undue burden on Sandy Creek and Lacona Village residents. While others nearby enjoy the benefits of competition, such as lower prices and better service, we are stuck with limited choices that do not meet our needs. Spectrum's lack of competition means that we have no leverage to negotiate better prices or improved service quality.

It's imperative that Oswego County and Empire Access recognize the disparities that exist and take concrete steps to extend the ConnectALL Fiber Network into Sandy Creek and Lacona Villages. This infrastructure expansion would not only provide us with equitable access to modern, high-speed internet, but also stimulate economic growth, attract businesses, and increase property values in our community. High-speed internet is not a luxury—it's a necessity for education, healthcare, remote working, and daily life, and Sandy Creek Village deserves the same access as surrounding areas.

By signing this petition, you are standing with Sandy Creek and Lacona Villages in our plea for a just and equitable Internet landscape. Let's demand this critical infrastructure investment, challenge the existing monopoly, and pave the way for a more connected and competitive future for our village. Please sign today and support our community's push for fairness and progress. In addition, it is imperative that you also register your street address with Empire Access to let them know there is demand in the village for their service at:  https://www.empireaccess.com/oswego-county/
