As a streaming service enthusiast, I find the disruptive volume changes drastically altering my viewing experience. The lack and inconsistency of volume normalization among various streaming platforms become undeniable nuisances for many. In light of this, this petition proposes the extension of the Commercial Advertisement Loudness Mitigation (CALM) Act to include streaming services.

Initially enforced by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) in 2011, the CALM Act commanded TV stations and cable companies to cap the volume of commercials so they don't blast louder than the actual programming. The act was widely welcomed and improved the viewing experience for countless TV users.

However, in our increasingly digital age, streaming services are yet to be addressed by similar regulations. This petition serves to fill that gap. By extending the CALM Act to include streaming services, we envision a harmonious viewing experience across all platforms, void of any volume-related interruptions.
