We, the undersigned residents and users of the Bega On Demand Bus service, are requesting extended operating hours for the service in Bega and surrounding areas.

The On Demand (Flexibus) service currently operates limited hours, which makes it difficult for many residents to use the service for work, education, medical appointments, shopping, and social activities outside the current time window. Many people in our community rely on this service as they do not have access to a car, cannot drive, or have limited transport options. 

Extending the operating hours would:

Help people get to and from work

Support elderly and disabled residents

Allow students better access to education and training

Improve access to shopping, medical appointments and services

Reduce social isolation

Support local businesses and the local economy

Provide safer transport options at night and early morning

The On Demand Bus service has already proven to be popular and important for regional communities, providing flexible public transport where traditional bus routes are limited. 

We are requesting that operating hours be extended to include:

Earlier morning services

Afternoon and evening services

Sunday services

Longer Saturday hours

Reliable and accessible public transport is essential for regional communities like Bega, and extending the On Demand Bus hours would greatly improve transport access and quality of life for many residents.
