Many of us, including myself, revel in the long, warm days, making the most out of every sun-filled moment. Yet all too soon, we find ourselves looking at the calendar, realizing that summer is slipping away faster than we’d like.

This is not just a matter of personal preference but a broader issue that affects millions. With lengthy school terms, packed work schedules, and our increasingly demanding pace of life, the opportunity to truly unwind during summer is becoming a rare luxury. To address this, we propose extending the summer period by adding more national holidays during these months.

Additional national holidays could mean several benefits: increased family time, improved mental health from longer relaxation periods, a boost in domestic tourism, and overall well-being. Longer summer breaks foster creativity and innovation, as individuals return to their routines refreshed and revitalized.

Many countries, such as France with their extensive holiday periods, have found success with longer breaks, citing increased happiness and satisfaction among their citizens. Encouraging a model where workers and students have more time to recharge will undoubtedly support long-term productivity and happiness.
