In University High school, located in West Los Angeles, CA, USA, we are advocating for an extension of the nutrition time in our schools by five minutes. This change would reduce the current lunch period length and allocate that time to nutrition instead. This is a critical issue as numerous studies have shown that adequate nutrition breaks can significantly improve students' concentration levels and overall academic performance (Source: American Journal of Public Health). Furthermore, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), students who have regular nutritional breaks perform better academically and experience less fatigue. By implementing this change in our schools in Sawtelle, we can foster an environment that prioritizes student health and academic success.
