Extend LAUSD's Free Mental Health Services for Students Beyond June 2025

Extend LAUSD's Free Mental Health Services for Students Beyond June 2025
The Issue
The Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) has been providing free mental health services to their K-12 students through Hazel Health. This essential program was created to address the gaps in the youth mental health crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, but it is set to end in June 2025.
The pandemic caused many children to experience increased levels of stress, depression, and anxiety. Mental health services are geared toward addressing these symptoms, but they are often underfunded and difficult to obtain due to high costs. Every student deserves access to services for mental health regardless of their economic status. LAUSD's free mental health program provides a vital support system for many families who are unable to cover the cost.
Please sign this petition urging LAUSD and other pertinent authorities to extend its free mental health services beyond their deadline. By doing so, we can advocate for students to continue to receive the support that they need.
