The current hours of the Drew University Library are unacceptable for an academic institution. The latest the library is open is until 10 PM, Monday-Thursday. The remaining three days of the week, it is open until 8 PM on Friday and Sunday and only 5 PM on Saturdays. In addition, the opening hours on the weekend consist of 12 PM on Saturdays and 2 PM on Sundays. This is not conducive to the work ethic of students of higher education, and does not account for the busy schedules of student athletes and students involved in various on-campus activities and responsibilities. Furthermore, according to the Library Hours section of the Drew University website, the hours will not be changed or extended during finals. These hours do not support the academically rigorous coursework on which Drew prides itself and is not encouraging the students to do their best work. 

It should also be noted that on the prospective students day held on Sunday, March 26th, the library was open at 11 AM, which it is not normally. This presents a false reality to prospective students, as well as showing clearly to the current students of Drew University that their work is not the priority of the institution.

• Extend library hours to 9 AM - 12 AM during finals week (May 3 - May 10)
