We know what it is like to rely on our Diamond Bus Passes. Many of us begin work at 9 AM or sometimes even earlier, and the existing constraints on their usage pose a significant challenge. Currently, these passes are not valid before 9 AM on any weekdays, here in Bristol, South Gloucestershire, Bath, and North East Somerset. 

The lack of 24/7 usability of bus passes for Disabled people can negatively impact many dedicated workers who, much like us, are trying to start their day a bit early. Moreover, The Office of National Statistic data shows that about 52% of Disabled people in the UK are in employment. These work commitments often necessitate commuting to work early in the morning, a need that is currently not accommodated by restrictions on the bus pass.

We believe that these limitations fail to consider the diversity of needs within the Disabled community, and can act as barriers to normal day-to-day activities like employment, college and social activities. We call on West of England Combined Authority (WECA) and the local transport authority to extend the usability of the Diamond Bus Pass before 9 AM. It is time for our transport system to work for everyone !! regardless of when their day starts. Please, join us in making our voice heard and sign this petition.
