The Palestinian people have been enduring tremendous injustice and occupation for over a hundred years, since the UK Government gave Palestine to Zionist Jews in 1917. Israel's actions against Palestine have escalated to such an extent that they are committing genocide. The Israeli ambassador to Ireland, Dana Erlich, continues to defend these atrocities. This is unacceptable and it is time we take a stand against this blatant disregard for human rights.

According to the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), between 2008 and 2020 alone, over 5,600 Palestinians were killed by Israeli forces. This includes more than 1,200 children – an average of one child killed every week for twelve years straight.

In addition to this loss of life, the UN reports that Israel has displaced thousands of Palestinians through forced evictions and demolitions of homes. These actions are in direct violation of international law which prohibits forcible transfer and collective punishment.

By allowing Dana Erlich to remain as ambassador in Ireland we are tacitly endorsing these acts. We must send a clear message that such behavior will not be tolerated by expelling her immediately from her diplomatic post.
