We, a collective of international students who applied for our study permit visas in September 2023, have yet to receive any decision from Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) as of 5th January 2024. This delay is causing significant stress and uncertainty about our future studies in Canada.

We understand that IRCC processes thousands of applications every year. However, according to IRCC's own data from previous years, the average processing time for study permit visas is approximately eight weeks. It has been over four months since we submitted our applications - significantly longer than the average processing time.

In light of this situation, we are requesting that IRCC expedite the review process for our pending visa applications. We believe it is only fair that we receive a timely decision given that we have fulfilled all application requirements and paid all necessary fees.

For transparency and ease of communication, each student involved in this petition has provided their Unique Client Identifier (UCI) Number, full name and application number.

We urge IRCC to consider the impact these delays are having on us as students eager to begin or continue our educational journey in Canada. Please expedite the processing of our study permit visas without further delay.
