Expedite Repair and Upgrade of Opticomm Internet Network in Fern Bay's Seaside Estate

The Issue

I am a resident of Fern Bay, living in the beautiful Seaside Estate within the Port Stephens LGA. Our community, like many others, relies heavily on consistent internet connectivity for work, education, communication and entertainment. However, many residents have been experiencing persistent and prolonged outages of our Opticomm Internet Network, some have suffered poor connections many years. This has generated significant disruptions to our daily lives and in many cases seriously effected the ability for residents to conduct study and work within their household.

I like many Seaside Estate residents have attempted to rectify this issue by continually contacting our Internet Service Providers and/or the Telecommunications Industry Ombudsman. However the issue has been communicated by these parties to lie with Opticomm and their need to repair/upgrade their network, which as of yet has not adequately been able to provide a reliable internet network to the entire estate. 

The residents of Fern Bay's Seaside Estate deserve reliable internet service. We call upon the Telecommunications Industry Ombudsman, The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission and The Port Stephens Local Member to administer appropriate action against Opticomm to expedite repair works on our current network infrastructure and consider any and all necessary upgrades to ensure consistent service delivery into the future.

I urge all residents affected by this issue as well as those who believe in fair access to reliable internet services to sign this petition urging relevant parties for swift action.
