The University of Alabama is a vibrant campus, home to over 38,000 students from all fifty states and several countries. However, this does present a certain logistical issue for transportation! Naturally, many students do not have their cars available in Tuscaloosa. Additionally, with so many students – nearly 60% of the student body – hailing from out of state, transportation to Birmingham’s airport can be limited, which is critical for many individuals’ ability to travel home.

The good news? This can change! Our SGA can and should expand access to airport shuttles for students, running directly from campus to the Birmingham airport. These shuttles would have a tremendous impact for students whose situations are similar to those mentioned above, allowing for much easier and more convenient travel.
