UT students are calling on Texas Athletics and the university for the expansion of the Texas Football student section at DKR Memorial Stadium. With a capacity over 100,000, students make up only 12.9% of the fans on game day.  As the core fanbase of Texas Football, students deserve better. They should not be disadvantaged by limited space and prioritized less than season ticket holders and the general public. Members of Student Government are fighting for this right now. We deserve a bigger student section like other SEC schools have. Expanding the student section and ensuring ticket availability for every game would not only improve safety but would also significantly enhance the game day atmosphere, making it a true Texas game day. College football is for college students, and it is time that Texas makes us the priority in DKR.
