As a family who frequently travels to Disney, we are all too familiar with the heavy traffic on I-4. Our trips, which should be filled with anticipation and joy, often start off stressful due to the congestion on this highway. We are not alone in this experience; countless residents and visitors of Orlando face similar issues daily.

According to the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), I-4 is one of the busiest highways in Florida, with certain sections carrying over 200,000 vehicles per day. The current capacity is simply not sufficient for this volume of traffic.

Adding lanes to I-4 would significantly reduce congestion and improve travel times for everyone using this vital artery through our city. It would also enhance safety by reducing incidents related to traffic congestion such as rear-end collisions.

We urge FDOT and relevant authorities to consider expanding I-4 in areas where there is a lot of traffic. This improvement will not only benefit families like ours but also have a positive impact on tourism and local businesses that rely on smooth transportation routes. People who commute for work also have to deal with this traffic on the daily.
