On the morning of November 10th, Ann Rand, Board President of the Birmingham Boys Choir (BBC), sent an email to inform the current members of the BBC that the services of Mr. Berg as Music Director and Resident Composer would end effective that day. No reason was given for the dismissal.
 
One of the goals of the BBC is to teach integrity and professionalism. A cold email sent impersonally to current choir members informing them of this weighty decision reflects neither integrity nor professionalism. We believe the boys deserve better because they are taught to do better.
 
As such, we, the families of the BBC, both current and former, demand a public forum with the Executive Board and Executive Director, Ms. Peterson-Tice, to discuss the recent dismissal of Mr. Berg as Music Director and Resident Composer.
