Excessive Fees

Cortland Hollywood, Hollywood, FL: My fellow residents we have been blindsided by an unexpected and seemingly exorbitant charge: Over $60 Fee per apartment per month for dump pickup that seems to only come once a month. This fee is particularly alarming given that our complex hosts 366 apartments. Simple math shows that the total collected from residents exceeds $23,000 or more EVERY month. The trash bin is always overflowing with trash outside of the dumpster area.

Recently, we have witnessed a pickup truck with a trailer from a small local junk removal business handling the junk collection. This triggered concern and confusion regarding the justification for such a high fee. The scale of operations observed did not align with the hundreds of thousands of dollars being collected annually from residents for this service.

This is not just about questioning a charge; it’s about demanding transparency and fairness. In a community where each dollar counts, such vague fee estimations without clear cost breakdowns erode trust between landlords and tenants.

We are calling on our apartment complex management to provide a detailed breakdown of the costs associated with dump pickup services. Transparency in financial dealings is crucial to maintaining trust and ensuring fairness in our community. It's time for our voices to be heard and our concerns to be addressed.
