COUNCILS GONE MAD ON ROOMING HOUSES !!! (Council Rates)

THIS AFFECTS EVERY SINGLE ONE OF US RUNNING ROOMING HOUSE IN VIC ...

Currently one of the BIGGEST complaints I receive is around councils charging excessive fees for rooming/boarding considering them as commercial... This needs to be addressed... !!!

Just as the many in Victoria are affected, so are we. It's a very ridiculous notion. I have put together a summary of how I have justified rooming as totally residential yet councils are still thinking its ok to RIPP us off.

I have not just got one compliant I have got many. People this is totally not acceptable. AND I want to do something about this... BUT I need your help !! This is, and will be a collaborative effort.

Getting hit double for your property simply because you want to support affordable housing and set your property up in a certain way.. BULLS^%$T

Looking at ONE property: How does a group of people sharing a house mean its any different to a standard family of say 7 ... it's absolutely ludicrous... ESPECIALLY a class 1b.

The only way to address this is at a state level because our cries are not being heard at the council level... purely cause they want to squeeze the revenue out of you and will suppress all efforts to try to understand you (revenue rasing) ...

Ultimately making it even harder and this affects the community at large needing safe affordable accom... ( we all know how complex it is and expensive to set one up, let alone have to rune one ) 

RIDICULOUS ... On one end the government is punting the push for affordable accommodation/housing and giving rooming house exemption... but on the other hand, every agency and part thereof is riffling us to no end. (expense after expense) Now we have to pay an extra council rate because someone hasn't got this right in government.  What a joke.

Yet we all know how many people get away with not even getting compliant and run willy nilly and no extra fees.. I'm so annoyed about this...!! And I'm sure you are also? 

 But we will need to band together as one big massive group... I know there are a few solid people here that are ready to get into it ... but we need every single rooming house operator that DOESNT want to face the extra charges (commercial council rates) ?

If you really want to make this work and you actually want to take action ill work with you... BUT I cant make an impact with 5 or even 10 complaints... We need 100 or even better 500... 1000
