

Over the last few months, I have been exploring with others the legal basis that exists for challenging the London Plan and stopping flawed development plans for Kingston and across the capital. After all, the ruling of an independent judge is something to which everyone must listen
There are two main obvious areas of possible challenge: equalities: the number of poor and other vulnerable people who will be affected by the plan - and habitats: the most protected areas of nature in England that are meant to enjoy legal protection under the "Habitats Directive".
Other people are better placed than I am to explore fully the merits of any case on equalities grounds and they are in the process of doing so
In the meantime, I have analysed in depth the Habitats Regulations Assessment for the London Plan. I have also contacted expert scientists in order to gather evidence that shows the true exposure of ostensibly protected habitats and species in and around London to the scale of development outlined in the London Plan
