The London Plan is due to be published in the next few weeks and contains massive growth targets for Kingston which will be automatically transposed into Kingston’s Local Plan. I believe that the process for agreeing targets for massive development all over London may be similarly flawed.
From Kingston to Croydon, from The Lee Valley and Enfield to the Royal Docks and Beckton Riverside, from Hounslow to Southall and Ealing and from Stratford and the Isle of Dogs to Haggerston and Elephant and Castle - all over London, targets for massive housing and jobs growth have been pushed through with little or no say from the communities that will be affected by them, and with inadequate and incomplete assessment of the impact of development on the natural and historical environment and biodiversity
A leading London QC has agreed to give me written advice as to whether we have a case for challenging the London Plan

The London Plan is likely to be published in June. From the date it is published, we will have only a matter of weeks to launch a challenge in the courts if we need to do so

Any money I raise in excess of £4000 to fund any further legal advice or legal action. At the end of the process, I will donate any funds remaining to the NHS Charities Together Appeal
The QC will advise on whether the London Plan meets statutory requirements with respect to growth targets and the protection of the environment and heritage assets
If the QC agrees there are merits in my case, I will be able to use the written advice to:
a. Ask the Mayor of London to address those issues before he publishes the London Plan
b. Publicise widely how what is happening to Kingston and perhaps all over London is not legally sound
c. Raise awareness about the threat to the natural environment and biodiversity across and beyond Greater London from the London Plan
d. Raise funds for a full legal challenge
e. Launch legal action against the London Plan as a last resort
