Exam Integrity at a Crossroads
Exam Integrity at a Crossroads
The Issue
Urgent Appeal to the Government of India
The recent detention of Sonam Wangchuk has brought renewed attention to the growing demand for reforms that safeguard the integrity of India’s examination system. We urge the Government of India to immediately open a constructive and peaceful dialogue with Mr. Wangchuk and the other protesters, who are calling for stronger action against examination paper leaks that have compromised the credibility of competitive examinations such as NEET-UG and affected the future of millions of students.
The concerns raised by the protesters deserve to be heard with seriousness and respect. In a democratic society, dialogue remains the most effective way to address public grievances and build trust. We therefore appeal to the government to engage with the protesters without delay and work towards a mutually acceptable and peaceful resolution.
Recent incidents have also heightened public concern regarding the treatment of peaceful protesters. We respectfully urge the authorities to ensure that democratic rights are protected while addressing the issues through consultation rather than confrontation.
We further call upon the government to introduce stronger institutional safeguards against examination paper leaks, enhance accountability at every stage of the examination process, and implement reforms that improve transparency, fairness, and public confidence in India’s education and recruitment systems.
We are equally concerned about Mr. Wangchuk’s deteriorating health during his hunger strike. His well-being requires immediate attention, and every effort should be made to resolve the situation through dialogue before it escalates further.
India’s students deserve an examination system where success is determined by merit alone—not by corruption or compromised processes.
Sign this petition to support peaceful dialogue, meaningful examination reforms, and a transparent, accountable education system that protects the aspirations of every student.
