Evict Drug Users from Edinburgh Road in Jarrow

The Issue

We are residents of Jarrow, living by Edinburgh Road, who are constantly disturbed by the nuisance caused by drug users in the estate. Late-night disturbances, public health risks, property damage, and other distressing events occur far too regularly, making our lives stressful and unsafe.

In recent years, the drug problem in Scotch estate has grown worse. According to a report by the Office for National Statistics, South Tyneside, where Jarrow is located, has one of the higher drug-related mortality rates in England.

We deeply understand that addiction is a serious issue that requires compassionate treatment. We urge for a comprehensive plan that includes eviction of drug users on Edinburgh Road, yet also incorporates much-needed drug intervention programs and support systems.

We appeal to the South Tyneside Council and Northumbria Police: please help us regain peace, security, and safety in our community. It is not just our comfort, but our mental and physical well-being at stake. We ask for a swift and effective solution, to bring peace back to our neighbourhood.

Please, join us and sign this petition to evict drug users from Edinburgh Road and introduce such necessary intervention measures. Let's reclaim our community. Let's ensure Scotch estate is safe and secure for all its residents.
