Open all the pubs in tier 2 locations regardless if they serve food or not, It makes no sense that you can go into a pub with a group of people and have a meal then sit there for hours after drinking. It doesn’t make sense that the same group of people can’t go into a pub and have a drink for a while.

The local pub is a way of life, it’s not just about going out and getting drunk, for many it’s a break from the daily monotony of life, a place to unwind after work. Husbands, wives & partners can either go together and enjoy the pub or get a break from each other for a small amount of time. 

For some people the pub is the only place where they can interact and talk with others about their daily life which aids their mental health and well being. We all have friends that have suffered loss and again the pub is a lifeline to them.

The local pub industry employs an astronomical amount of people and by keeping these closed will only jeopardise the future for them. I also fear for all the pubs that have to remain closed due to the loss of business.

we all appreciate the severity of the COVID-19 virus but fail to see the difference between having a meal and having a drink especially when other things like shows, bingo and sports will be acceptable within tier 2.
