recently there has been a new coronavirus that has recently emerged from the city of Wuhan, Hebei province China. In fact, it is so new that lacks a name.

It is my belief that the new coronavirus should only be named after an individual deserving of this high honour.

the only individual that even comes close to deserving this prestigious award is darksydephil.

my point as to why this new coronavirus needs to have a name is two-fold.

1. the term coronavirus is a technical term. It would be like calling aids retrovirus. It is an inappropriately imprecise name. this also leads into my second point.

2. If the term coronavirus sticks as the popular name for this novel coronavirus it may cause a level of false security or overblown panic (depending on how bad this epidemic gets).

for the public safety of our children and our children's children, I ask that you sing this petition.
