We were saddened to learn of the acts of violence that affected the village of Egbekaw, a neighbourhood in the town of Mamfe, on the 6th of November 2023.

While empathising with the victims and expressing our deep and sincere condolences to the saddened families, we strongly condemn these barbarian acts, during which the perpetrators set houses on fire and killed men, women, and children as they slept.

These acts plunged families into mourning, destroyed people's properties and profoundly affect Cameroonians in the Diaspora.

We seize this opportunity to strongly condemn all other acts of violence previously perpetrated in the Northwest and Southwest regions of Cameroon. All these acts limit the movement of populations, preventing children from having peaceful access to quality education. 

We condemn this tragedy, whose outcome is the loss of hundreds of lives and the displacement of thousands, the razing of entire villages, depriving the population of the exercise of their fundamental rights in this part of Cameroon.

We hope the Egbekaw tragedy will be the last tracking record where innocent Human lives are affected in Cameroon!

We call on the forces and leaders in place and abroad to protect the populations and respect their fundamental human rights.
