Help Everett High School Keep Our Principal, Lance Balla

Help Everett High School Keep Our Principal, Lance Balla
The Issue
Everett High School students, staff, and alumni have had the pleasure of being led by Mr. Lance Balla, an amazing principal and now his time at EHS is being cut short. Mr. Balla is patient, caring, and genuine. During school, you would often find him outside or in the hallways waving and high-fiving students. His work as the head of Everett High School is profound and diligent. He has always presented himself as an ally to students and staff of color and made EHS a safe space for all. The decision was made by the district to transfer him to Jackson High School. We are aware that this matter may be out of his hands but we won't let him go that easily or without a fight. To the underserved and underrepresented communities that Mr. Balla is persistently fighting for, replacing him, feels like a slap in the face. For us Black students specifically, during these trying times, Mr. Balla has shown his solidarity, so to transfer him, now, makes it seems like the Everett Public Schools District has an ulterior motive. He is our closest ally and speaking for all EHS students, staff, and community members we would be heartbroken if he was not back at EHS next year. If Mr. Balla is moved, so is the fire that keeps Everett High School spirit alive.
