Evening City Council Meetings ?

The Issue

Do we want Evening City Council Meetings ?

We, the People of Inglewood, call upon our local city council to recognize the pressing need for inclusivity and accessibility in our community's decision-making process. For far too long, city council meetings have been scheduled during the daytime, which has prevented many working individuals from actively participating in shaping the future of our city. We believe it is time to change this and ensure that our city council meetings are held in the evenings to allow the voices of all residents to be heard.

We, the People of Inglewood , demand that our city council schedule at least one evening meeting per month to ensure that all members of our community have the opportunity to attend, engage, and contribute to the decision-making process.

Inclusivity:

Evening meetings will enable working people, including those with full-time jobs, to attend and participate in the democratic process. This will help make our city's governance more representative of the diverse needs and voices within our community.

Transparency:

Conducting meetings in the evening will enhance transparency as more residents will be able to witness and engage in the decision-making process, ensuring accountability and trust in local government.

Public Engagement:

By providing an accessible evening option, our city council can foster increased community engagement and encourage active participation in discussions about critical issues that affect our lives.

A More Informed Council:

An evening meeting schedule will lead to a better-informed city council by enabling them to gather a wider range of perspectives, leading to more well-rounded and thoughtful decisions.

Economic Growth:

Creating a more inclusive schedule will foster a sense of community and engagement, potentially attracting businesses and residents who value local government accessibility.
We, The voting people of Inglewood, firmly believe that this change in the scheduling of city council meetings will be a positive and progressive step towards a more inclusive and equitable future for our city.

By signing this petition, you are voicing your support for evening city council meetings, which will allow all members of our community to participate actively in shaping the future of our city. Let us stand together and ensure that the voices of all residents are heard and valued.

Sign this petition to help us bring about positive change in our local governance. Together, we can make a significant impact on our community and create a more inclusive and representative future.
