Over 80% of chickens and pigs reared for meat in the EU are factory farmed. Much of the pork we eat in the UK is imported, meaning that it often comes from pigs kept indoors for their entire lives, sometimes: with no straw bedding; with their tails cut off; and forced to give birth in crates. However, food labels usually won't tell you this.

Now is our chance to stop it.

We can improve the lives of millions of farm animals across the EU if Commissioner Borg helps extend method of production labelling to all meat and dairy products. Shoppers will then be able to identify the farm system animals were raised in and have the option to avoid buying products from factory farmed animals.
