Stop Animal Testing

The Issue

Each year, more than 100 million animals—including frogs, rats, mice, dogs, rabbit, cats, hamsters, guinea pigs, fish, birds, and monkeys—are killed in U.S. for cosmetic testing.

The French beauty conglomerate L’Oreal announced a partnership with bioprinting company Organovo. Through this partnership, they will be using 3D-printed human skin to evaluate cosmetics. In the L’Oreal laboratories in Lyon, France, there are about 60 scientist creating skin samples using tissue donated by plastic surgery patients.

Estee Lauder owns many smaller divisions including Clinique, MAC, Smashbox, and Bobbi Brown. If Estee Lauder can share the example set by L'Oreal, who knows how many animals could be saved each year.
