I am writing to address a distressing incident that took place at a local swimming center in Melbourne. A 19-year-old lifeguard was violently assaulted by a group of eight 19-year-old boys. Such acts of violence have no place in our community, and it is crucial that we come together to ensure they do not happen again.

As members of a tight-knit community, it is our responsibility to create a safe and inclusive environment for everyone. This type of behavior cannot be tolerated, and we must work collectively to prevent it from recurring.
