Winding Ridge's tennis courts are becoming increasingly under-utilized as more members of our community express desire to play pickleball. It's a popular sport that combines elements of tennis, badminton, and ping-pong, and can fit four pickleball courts inside a standard tennis court without disturbing the baseline.

Many residents are unable to enjoy the game due to lack of properly marked pickleball courts. Our proposal is simple: draw permanent pickleball lines on one of the tennis courts on each side, allowing for a shared-use model that has been successful in other sport facilities. This will have minimal impact on existing tennis play, as one tennis court can readily accommodate four pickleball courts. The lines should not impact existing tennis lines and should be in yellow, not white.

The rights of tennis players will be preserved, with priority given to their booking efforts as it has always been. However, shared use of these courts ensures that more residents can stay active and enjoy the amenities our community provides. Let's maximize our recreation space together and support sport diversity.
