As a deeply concerned citizen and a lover of the enchanting city of Myrtle Beach, I feel drawn to address a critical issue. Myrtle Beach, one of the most popular vacation destinations in the U.S., remains inaccessible by passenger rail. This situation, to me and to many, is absolutely unacceptable. Around 14 million visitors are recorded to flock this tourist paradise per year ("Tourism Statistics", Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce). Yet, these visitors, along with the local population, are denied a smooth, efficient, and environmentally sustainable travel option like a passenger train service. The introduction of such a service can not only alleviate traffic congestion but also contribute to regional economic growth and lessen carbon footprint. It is high time we rectify this glaring oversight and steer towards a more holistic transport network for Myrtle Beach. Let's urge our local and state policymakers to pave the way for an intercity passenger train service serving Myrtle Beach. Take a stand for better connectivity.
