I am a resident of Calabogo, Romblon, Philippines. In my community, I have observed a disturbing trend where men are favored over women when it comes to employment opportunities. This is not only unfair but also against the principles of equality that we should uphold as a society.

Despite the fact that women make up half of our population, they are often overlooked when it comes to job opportunities. According to the Philippine Statistics Authority (2019), women's labor force participation rate is significantly lower than men's - 46.5% compared to 75.7%. This disparity is even more pronounced in rural areas like ours.

This issue affects not just individual women but also our community as a whole. When women are given equal opportunities to work and earn income, they contribute significantly towards economic growth and development.
