Establish Direct Bus Route from Westside to Parkmore East Business Park

Establish Direct Bus Route from Westside to Parkmore East Business Park
The Issue
I am one of many people who have experienced the difficulty of commuting to Parkmore East Business Park from Westside Shopping Centre. As opposed to making a straightforward commute, we are forced to take an indirect route - first boarding the 404 bus, then switching to the 409 route at Castlegar GAA club. Such inefficiencies only add to the daily stress of full-time employees who are simply trying to get to work.
Parkmore East Business Park is a bustling hub of business activity, with a significant workforce, many of whom do not own a car. These individuals are forced to choose between a dangerous bicycle ride and the costly expense of multiple weekly taxi rides. This financial straitjacket puts undue pressure on citizens of Galway City and negatively impacts the overall quality of life.
Added to these burdens is the fact that effective and reliable public transportation is a crucial component of a vibrant city, contributing significantly to its economic health, environmental sustainability, and community vitality.
I believe it is high time that Galway City council and our public transport operators address this issue by introducing a direct bus route from Westside to Parkmore East Business Park. The introduction of this route will resonate positively within the community as a testament to our city's commitment to connectivity, inclusion and public service.
Please sign this petition if you believe in an accessible, affordable, and reliable public transport system and support the plea for a direct bus route.
