Establish and fund a new law school at Langston University

The Issue

In 1946, Langston University Law School was established at the Oklahoma State Capitol in a couple rooms in the Senate chamber for one student to attend: Ada Lois Sipuel Fisher.

This is because Oklahoma law at that time prevented her from attending the law school at the University of Oklahoma. This was not acceptable and the case was taken to the U.S Supreme Court where Oklahoma higher education segregation laws were defeated; and Ada Lois Sipuel Fisher was granted admission to the OU Law School.

Consequently, the Langston University Law School was shuttered for good.

Today, Langston University should have a legitimate opportunity to establish a well-funded law school to train talented and capable legal minds
