As a college student in Lubbock, I often find myself longing for the diverse and healthy food options that Trader Joe's offers. Every time my parents visit, they bring me food from Trader Joe's because it is simply not available here. But we shouldn't have to rely on visits from out of town to access these nutritious alternatives.

We are not alone in this struggle. There are over 36,000 students at Texas Tech University alone who could benefit from having a Trader Joe's nearby. We're all trying to avoid fast food and make healthier choices - but without affordable and accessible options like those offered by Trader Joe's, it can be challenging.

Moreover, Lubbock is one of the largest cities in Texas without a Trader Joe’s store. This leaves many residents without access to their affordable organic produce and unique grocery items that cater to various dietary needs.

By establishing a store here, Trader Joe’s would not only provide better food options for thousands of students but also contribute significantly to our local economy through job creation and increased retail activity.
