My name is Vicky Nelson I am student and club president at Evergreen Valley College in San Jose, CA. One of the things that personally strikes and concerns me is the lack of a common place with advanced tools to aid in the academics and social clubs we dutifully undertake in the college.

A Makerspace is more than just a place to work; it's a community hub where knowledge can be shared, ideas can be brought to life, and students from all disciplines can find the resources they need to explore their academic and personal interests. Institutions such as West Valley College have found that Makerspace facilities increase student engagement and contribute to academic success. This shared place would be a cost-effective way for students to gain access to the tools they need and support our educational journey at Evergreen Valley College. Some examples of the machines needed are 3D printers, vinyl cutters, heat press, and laser cutters.

It's time for us to step into the future and keep pace with the evolving educational landscape. Let us equip our students with the tools they need. I urge the administration of Evergreen Valley College and the local stakeholders to realize the necessity of a Makerspace within our college facility.
