As a concerned parent in Wichita, my son with ADHD has been struggling with behavioral issues both at school and home. I am left feeling helpless and yearning for a local program that could guide him towards making better life decisions. This is why we need to establish a 'Scared Straight' program here in Wichita, Kansas.

'Scared Straight' programs have proven effective across the country by providing at-risk youth with an eye-opening experience about the harsh realities of criminal behavior and its consequences. According to the National Criminal Justice Reference Service, such programs have shown positive results in deterring youth from criminal activities (NCJRS).

In our city of approximately 390,000 residents (US Census Bureau), there are surely other parents who share this concern for their children's future. By establishing this program locally, we can provide our young people with an opportunity to learn valuable lessons about life choices before it's too late.
