To: The Wapello County Board of Supervisors and the Secondary Roads Department

Whereas, crossing 375-761J (known to be located north of Rocket Fuel on Highway 34) is to be closed and public funds are planned to upgrade crossing 375-759H (next crossing west of crossing to be closed)  and,

Whereas only a public authority can petition the Federal Railroad Commission (FRC,) for a Quiet Zone and,

Whereas the impact of modern horns affect sleep, property values, and the quality of life of residents and are typically loud enough to be heard for miles and,

Whereas we understands that safety is the top priority of the Wapello County Board of Supervisors and,

Whereas a newly built crossing has the potential to have any extra safety features required to be installed at that time and so,

Come the undersigned people of Wapello County, Iowa to request

     1.)  A quiet zone at this crossing
     2.) The commission of a Quiet Zone Project to assess any additional requirements to be installed at the                                                                  
            time of the upgrade.
