The Issue

On behalf of the Minneapolis community, we urge the city to construct a designated memorial for Renee Good, a 37-year-old innocent woman and single mother, whose life was tragically cut short in an unjust encounter. Renee, an American citizen, was fatally shot by an ICE officer, Johnathan Ross, in a shocking incident that has left her family and community devastated.

On that fateful day, Renee, having just dropped off her 6-year-old child at school, became the victim of an unforgivable act. Video footage confirms that she posed no threat whatsoever when Ross fired his gun directly at her, taking her life. This incident has rightly sparked outrage and sorrow throughout the community and across the entire nation.

This tragic event has left a profound impact, especially on her young child, who must now face a future without his devoted mother. To honor her memory and provide a place for the community to gather in remembrance, we propose the construction of a memorial in her name within the city of Minneapolis.

Creating a memorial for Renee Good would serve as an enduring reminder of her life and the injustice she suffered. Furthermore, it will send a powerful message against the misuse of authority and the devastating effects it can have on individuals and families.

There have been further disrespectful actions taken, such as the desecration of her vigil by ICE agents, which only adds to the community's grief and sense of injustice. Therefore, let us stand together to ensure that Renee's story is permanently etched into the history of Minneapolis, reminding all of the importance of justice, accountability, and respect for life.

An American citizen was murdered by immigration officials in broad daylight. She was a single mother and posed no threat to the community. Please help honor her memory and show the country that this is not who we want to be as a nation.

By signing this petition, you will support the call for a memorial that honors Renee's humanity and advocates for a safer, more compassionate community free from such violence and injustice. We owe it to Renee, her family, and all those who have been devastated by this tragedy to ensure that her memory lives on and justice is pursued. Sign now to make this memorial a reality.
