Our town holds a vibrant community of children and adults who dearly miss having a local place to engage in fun, healthy, and sociable activities like riding bikes. Our youth, especially, need a space for play that isn't just confined to screens. However, the unfortunate reality is that our nearest skate park is located all the way in Swansea, which is too far and inconvenient for many people in our community.

It has become increasingly evident that constructing a local pump track in the Caves would massively benefit our community. A pump track, a circuit of rollers, banked turns, and features designed to be ridden on a bike, can create a hub for the children, encouraging them to step away from video games and engage more with their peers. It can help foster an active lifestyle, development of motor skills, positive use of free time, and enhance social connections.

Given these considerations, we are appealing to the relevant authorities to consider our proposal. Having a pump track in our community doesn't just bring joy to our children, it also fosters a sense of unity among all community members. Furthermore, it has been proven that community facilities such as these significantly contribute to the social and mental wellbeing of the community.

It's high time our children have an accessible and enjoyable place for recreation that doesn't require long and arduous journeys.
