The Issue

We're young, we're determined, and we love Lacrosse. We are a group of girls from Goshen High School, yearning for the opportunity to compete in a sport we adore: Lacrosse. It's not just about the game; it's about empowerment, camaraderie, and presenting girls with the same opportunities as boys.

In the heart of high school sports rivalry, schools around us, including Milford and Mason, have vibrant lacrosse programs. Our potential coach, Colin Kozlowski, is a former high school lacrosse player himself and is excited about fostering this passion in others.

We understand that setting up a new sports team requires resources, which is why we're willing to organize fundraising events during summer. We are ready to put in the work to get sponsorships and make this dream a reality.

A study by 'Women's Sports Foundation' reveals that girls who play sports get better grades and have a lower risk of dropping out of school. This isn't about creating an added expense, but rather an investment in our education and futures.

It's time to bring this exciting sporting opportunity to Goshen High School. We ask the school administration - please make lacrosse an official school sport for girls. Sign this petition to exhibit your support for gender equality in sports and empowering young athletes at Goshen.

Thank you for sharing this with me. I’ve shared it with our administration who can connect with the students and teacher about their interest. I love her enthusiasm and hope she can help in the process of identifying the level of interest and feasibility for our district. Feel free to encourage the student to connect directly with me. Sincerely, Deborah Gray
