Establish a Joseph Fay Britt/White City Waterfowl Refuge

Establish a Joseph Fay Britt/White City Waterfowl Refuge
The Issue
Attention WKY sportsmen and women. Hopkins Co. KY has been 3rd in waterfowl harvest rates year after year behind Ballard and Union counties. Hopkins county, is blessed to have 2 flyways lining western and eastern borders with the Tradewater and Pond Rivers, yet has no game and fish managed waterfowl rest area. Duck hunters will agree that pressure or lack there of, is crucial to duck hunter success. With your help we can take our concerns to the KY Game and Fish Dept with a unified voice and solution.
Proposed waterfowl refuge area.
-Hopkins Co. KY, Joseph Fay Britt White City WMA, all property confined East of Drakes Creek, South of Pond River, North of Western KY parkway owned/managed by KY game and fish (area pictured)
-Peabody WMA consists several tracts across 3 counties Ohio, Muhlenberg, and Hopkins Counties. Hopkins Co tract (Joseph Fay Britt White City WMA) is the only tract lacking a waterfowl rest area.
-Area is landlocked on 3 of 4 sides by private entities creating access issues and concerns as is.
-Proposed area is a traditional waterfowl roost area that holds water year around.
-Would serve as a waterfowl rest area for the Joseph Fay Britt White City WMA (5600 acres) located along the Pond River a traditional WKY waterfowl flyway.
Sign today in favor of establishing a crucial tool for waterfowl habitat and waterfowl hunters.
