Our community, which lies in the K Ward West, Mumbai, has long suffered due to the absence of these essential facilities. Oshiwara is home to thousands of residents, ranging from families with young children to elderly individuals like myself. Despite the rapid urbanization and the increasing population density, we remain alarmingly vulnerable to emergencies because of the unavailability of a nearby fire station. In case of fires or other emergencies, our response time can be dangerously delayed, putting lives and properties at significant risk.
Moreover, the absence of a post office poses challenges, especially for senior citizens who rely on mail services for various daily needs. In our age, when digital transactions pose a hurdle, the accessibility of traditional postal services becomes even more crucial. Traveling long distances to avail these basic services is not only inconvenient but also unsafe, particularly for the elderly and differently-abled members of our community.
