Prezados Membros da Comunidade,

A American Organization of Teachers of Portuguese (AOTP) juntamente com o Sr. Jonathan Asbell (pai e residente de Palm Beach County) está solicitando a sua assinatura na petição em anexo para demonstrar interesse e reivindicar a criação de programas de português em Palm Beach County. Esses programas contemplarão duas opções de ensino: um programa bilíngue desde as séries iniciais em que as aulas serão oferecidas em português e inglês e aulas optativas de português para Middle e High School.
As aulas de português atenderão aos alunos da comunidade, independente da origem e idioma falado em casa.

A AOTP iniciou também uma enquete que poderá auxiliar o Departamento de Educação Multicultural de Palm Beach a planejar estratégias para implementação de programas de português. A enquete foi criada para membros da comunidade da Flórida, independente do local de residência, que tenham filhos e interesse em matriculá-los em programas de português em Palm Beach. Dear Members of the Community,

The American Organization of Teachers of Portuguese (AOTP), along with Mr. Jonathan Asbell (parent  and resident of Palm Beach County), formally request your signature on the attached petition as a show of interest from the community in establishing a Dual Language (Bilingual) English-Portuguese program and elective Portuguese language classes (for Middle and High School) in the Palm Beach School District. These courses would enrich and serve the students in the community, regardless of their heritage or language spoken at home.

AOTP has also initiated an online survey designed for parents, regardless of where they live in Florida, who are interested in having their children attending Portuguese classes in Palm Beach county. This survey will be very helpful in assisting  the Multicultural Educational Department in planning strategies for the implementation of Portuguese programs.
