I'm speaking from personal experience when I say that establishing a direct air route between Shannon and Copenhagen is not only a convenience, but a necessity.

As someone who frequently travels between these two locations, the lack of a direct route greatly impacts the accessibility and efficiency of any travels. It causes long, time-crafted journeys through various forms of public transportation that increase travel time and inconvenience. I am not alone in this predicament. A multitude of people grapple with these logistical difficulties, restricting their ability to return home as often as they'd like.

Copenhagen is a bustling hub for the Irish who come from all locations, not just Dublin! With Shannon being Ireland's second busiest airport and Copenhagen being Scandinavia's busiest a direct air route between the two makes sense. Shannon serves about 1.7 million passengers yearly (Department of Transport, Ireland, 2019) and Copenhagen serves approximately 30 million (Copenhagen Airport Authority, 2018). With these numbers, the unavailability of a direct route between them seems disproportionately problematic. Also to mention, that Dublin has Daily flights! Remove even one and give it to Shannon! 

We urgently request the relevant authorities to consider establishing a direct route between Shannon and Copenhagen. This would ensure the freedom and ease of travel for many, connecting homes and hearts, and offering the convenience and time-efficiency that the passengers of these two active hubs deserve.
