My fellow community members,

I am reaching out to you as a resident of St. Stephen, New Brunswick, and the surrounding area. I have personally witnessed the economic and employment hardships this community faces, along with the limited local entertainment options. To fill this void, many of us travel to neighboring cities for leisure activities, investing our resources into other towns instead of our own. It doesn't have to be this way.

A solution that can address these challenges simultaneously is the establishment of a casino in St. Stephen. This would not only provide a local source of entertainment but also stimulate economic growth, create jobs, and enhance local tourism. Importantly, the profits generated would stay in our community, benefiting local businesses and funding community projects for the long-term. 

Residents could find employment closer to home, reducing travel time and expenses. Additionally, a local casino would attract tourists, boosting our local businesses and creating a vibrant, bustling atmosphere in St.Stephen.

Furthermore, the casino could provide funding for community projects such as improving our parks, schools, low-income housing, rehab & drug addiction programs, food insecurity and infrastructure. This would not only enhance the quality of life for residents but also make our city more attractive to potential new residents and investors.

Moreover, the casino could host a variety of entertainment options, such as concerts, stand-up comedy shows, poker tournaments, ATV competitions, a golf range, and various night activities. These attractions would provide residents and visitors with diverse entertainment choices, further enhancing the appeal of our city as a vibrant and exciting destination.

The New Brunswick New Democratic Party (NDP) has consistently advocated for initiatives that promote economic equality and community development. We believe that establishing a casino aligns with these values by creating job opportunities and generating revenue that can be reinvested into our community. Supporting this project would demonstrate the NDP's commitment to fostering local economic growth and improving the lives of everyday citizens.

I believe that our community stands to gain significantly from the establishment of a casino. Let's channel our resources inward to enhance our own community.
