The Issue

Volleyball has been a passion of mine, not just a sport but a vital part of who I am.  Having the opportunity to play and develop through a boys volleyball team at Hiram High School would mean the world to me, and I know I'm not alone in this.

Despite the popularity of volleyball among students In Georgia, there's currently no boys team at Hiram. This absence limits student choices in sports and denies many the chance to engage in a healthy, supportive activity. Volleyball not only promotes physical fitness but also helps build vital life skills such as teamwork, leadership, and perseverance.

Statistics show that engagement in school sports can improve academic performance, reduce dropout rates, and foster a sense of community. Importantly, school sports programs provide young students with avenues to pursue college scholarships and professional careers.

Hiram High is home to many talented student-athletes who deserve the chance to explore and excel in their preferred sports. Establishing a boys volleyball team would offer these students the opportunity to compete, develop their skills, and enhance their school experience.

We can work together to make this vision a reality. Administrators and faculty need to prioritize students' diverse interests and provide equal opportunities in athletics. With existing facilities and a supportive community, launching a boys volleyball team is a realistic goal.

Sign this petition to urge Hiram High School to offer every student the chance to play, learn, and grow in the sport of volleyball. Your support can help us pave the way for future athletes and enthusiasts. Let's make boys volleyball at Hiram High a reality!
